The start of my gardens...

Last year I had two 4x4 squarefoot gardens.  This year, I decided to make two more!  I still need to mix up my compost, vermiculite, and peat moss (mel's mix), then put up my 3-foot high bamboo/reed fence to keep Nissa out!!  We haven't decided what to put down around the boxes.  Around the two old boxes is natural mulch, but that looks kinda boring now that it has weathered to grey.  I saw some of that rubber mulch when I was out today, but that would be expensive!  Here's a pic:

Here's another pic of the boxes filled and the fence put up.  I ran out of the bamboo/reed fence roll, so still need to figure out what to make the gate out of!
